The tech:
While it may not seem like it, this film required immense and impressive post-production animation, design and skill. The automobile interior, began as a base smart car with a place holding smart phone on the dash. Art, overlays, and mattes were created to transform the device and dash to an integrated unit. Additionally, to distinguish between the Tablet and the GPS unit, individual graphic art was created by our small studio for a two-fold purpose. The first, to protect from the standpoint of intellectual property and the second, to bring a unique if international navigation look. This also fed into the universal theme of this story, that the understanding and issues of human-device interaction are not nation-specific, but rather applicable to us as a species. While these are not technical issues, per se that would be readily apparent to the viewer, in considering the accomplishment of this film professionally, I think they are important to call out.
